    Provincetown

Provincetown is easy to find from Cape Cod Bay. Just look at beautiful Italian Florentine tower marking the first landing place of the Pilgrims. Provincetown was called Hell Town in the 1800s.l It was a virtual island connected by a small dirt road. It was home to Mooncussers and pirates.

Today, it exists as a social dichotomy between a traditional Portugese fishing community and an arts community that has flourished since the 1930s. It’s live and let live on Commercial Street with dynamic displays of alternative lifestyles.

It’s also a great destination for your boat. Cruise around Long Point, which creates the Provincetown Harbor. Go north and head around the point to the south side toward Stellwagen Bank and around Race Point where you will experience your personal whale watch.

Enjoy the closest thing to virgin Cape Cod with its miles and miles of uninterrupted dunes of the National Seashore.

Near the shoreline, you will spot seals resting on sand bars during low tide. But, please stay a healthy distance away. These creatures are protected by federal lawn.
