Luxury Condominiums on Wychmere HarborAdd to My Luxx Living
It is rare to find luxury condominiums in such a natural, waterfront setting on Cape Cod as Wychmere Harbor in Harwich Port.
Already five of the 13 single-floor, 3,000-square-foot units of Soundview at Wychmere Shores have been purchased prior to actual groundbreaking this year.
The homes are selling for $1.65 million to $1.95 million within the ever-evolving 13-acre coastal property that includes a beach club, a restaurant, spa, boat docks, luxury town homes, a boutique hotel and an exclusive event venue.
Designed by architect George N.Gakidis of Gakidis & Stewart, the newest homes are being built four years after the waterfront property adjacent to Wychmere Harbor was sold by the family of Dr. J. Richard Fennell to Boston-based development partners for nearly $21 million.
Since their purchase, Wychmere Harbor Real Estate LLC, and Wychmere Estates Limited Partnership, have transformed the former home of the iconic Thompson’s Clam Bar into one of Cape Cod’s most luxurious residential and recreational destinations.
These newest condominium residences will be adjacent to the historic Snow Inn and overlook the Wychmere Beach Club with its two pools and pristine white beaches. Residents will share panoramic views of the harbor, Nantucket Sound, Monomoy, and conservation marsh.
When it was sold in 2010 after 26 years of family owners, Dr. Fennell voiced confidence the new owners would carry on the property’s “tradition of excellence in the town of Harwich.”
“We have worked diligently and passionately since then to fulfill Dr. Fennell’s confidence in our stewardship of this incomparably beautiful location,” said Demetrios Dasco, one of the partners, who owns one of the new homes built at Wychmere Shores in the last three years.
“We have built and upgraded Wychmere Shores not only as a very special residential community, but also for neighbors to enjoy, from beach and tennis club membership to holding special events at our waterside reception venue,” he said.
Residents of the newest 13 condominium homes will enjoy memberships at the beach club and the nearby tennis club on Rt. 28, said Tanco.
Dasco, one of three investors in Wychmere, is founder of Atlas Investment Group. The other two partners are Jim Apteker, owner of Longwood Events Corp. and Jeffrey Leerink, CEO of Leerink Swann. Longwood, which manages Wychmere’s reception venue, also owns the State Room in Boston, Veronique in Brookline and Belle Mer in Newport, R.I.
The newest condominium project, called Sound View at Wychmere Shores, follows expansion of the original Captain’s House into 5,000-square-foot, single-floor residences at the farthest tip of the property on Nantucket Sound, as well as six three-story townhouses adjacent to the harbor.
“Sound View at Wychmere Shores will feature luxury amenities including three bedrooms, four baths, 9½- feet ceilings, elevator, custom kitchen cabinets, granite counters, top-of-the-line appliances, crown molding and wainscot, luxurious master bedroom baths with marble vanities, spacious walk-in closets, hardwood floors in the living areas, Internet and media wiring, and access to a fitness center,’ said Tanco.
