Cape Cod Hospital Physicians
(Chatham, October 20, 2014) – The Eldredge Public Library and Cape Cod Healthcare are pleased to present a three-week course in November as part of the library’s 2014 Learning Series. The presentations by three medical specialists from Cape Cod Hospital will occur on three Tuesday mornings at 10 a.m. at the Eldredge Public Library on Main Street.
The series will begin on November 4, when Paul Houle, MD, a Board Certified Neurosurgeon, will speak about novel treatments for managing back pain. Back pain is one of the most common and debilitating afflictions that people experience as they age, and many people suffer needlessly. Dr. Houle will explain what causes the most common types of back pain and the most up-to- date ways to treat it and regain a better quality of life.
Philip Dombrowski, MD, Interventional Radiologist at Cape Cod Healthcare’s Heart & Vascular Institute, will present on November 18. He will discuss minimally invasive techniques to diagnose and treat many conditions that previously required surgery. These techniques involve using imaging to guide catheters and miniaturized instruments through the blood vessels instead of making large incisions in the body. Patients benefit from less risk, pain and scarring, reduced infection rates and a quicker return to regular activities.
James Boyle, MD, a Board Certified and Fellowship-trained Orthopedic Surgeon who specializes in foot and ankle conditions will be featured on November 25. There are 26 bones in a foot and ankle and Dr. Boyle knows how to diagnose and treat problems with them all.
The $10 fee for the course covers all three lectures. To register for the course, or for more information, please call 508-945-5170.
