Koko FitClub 30 for 30 Series: Seeing the fire in other Koko members

Luxx Cape Cod and Koko FitClub have partnered together to get fit. Over the next few months, we will be following Christopher through his journey on the Koko 30 days for $30 program, and see if it’s up to the test.

There’s something to be said about getting to know people, especially at the gym, because at the gym we’re at our highest level of public vulnerability. We wear tight clothes, make funny faces, smell, sweat, and huff and puff our way to a new, healthier us.

I overheard a recent acquaintance I’ve been connecting with at Koko talking to Nicola about being in a slump since he caved and indulged in massive feasts of steak, rice and potatoes over the weekend.

I naturally came in to defend the meal, because come on, not many meat-eaters are going to turn down a spread like that.

In my conversation, I learned that just a few months ago he had walked into Koko very overweight, and was looking to experiment with the process as a way of getting healthier. The picture he showed me of him then and him now was astounding. I would never have pictured him as overweight of out of shape before seeing it in person. He is so fit and so proud, at least what I’ve gathered from the few conversations we’ve had, that it was truly amazing.

Now you hear of this stuff all the time, beautiful stories of people losing weight and turning their life around in such a short amount of time.

But I’m sitting here saying, “We run on a treadmill for 15 minutes and lift weights for 30. How can you lose THAT much weight in 90 days by doing that?” It sounds like the intro to a gimmick, but having lived it myself (with different results – good ones no doubt) I gained a real appreciation for the Koko system and how much thought has been invested into creating the perfect, personalized workout. I couldn’t be happier for my friend, and can only imagine the other stories of people walking around the gym who I’m anxious to only learn more about.
