Koko FitClub 30 for 30 Series: Keeping things interesting
Luxx Cape Cod and Koko FitClub have partnered together to get fit. Over the next few months, we will be following Christopher through his journey on the Koko 30 days for $30 program, and see if it’s up to the test.
I think Koko knows a little too much sometimes. I was feeling a bit bored with the same workout routines, but my new program has switched things up a bit and I couldn’t be happier. I got Robb Parr – a celebrity fitness coach training me now and it’s a great change of pace. Even something as simple as mixing up the virtual trainer brings in a fresh new approach. It’s difficult to put into words, but you can almost tell the trainer by the workout. Typically, with Michael Woods (I’m on the intermediate build program) the workouts are more drawn out, with more challenging workouts and slower reps near the end, which can be a real drag if you’ve done cardio beforehand.
The new exercises are faster paced, with more reps and less weight, and also some repetition and a “theme” to the workout, so you cycle through the same reps twice, so 50% of the workout is new exercise, and then the back half is repeating those same workouts. The individual exercises are different every day, and I find myself with a renewed sense of purpose going to the gym – something I can’t say I’ve had in my experience with other clubs in the past.
The ability to keep things fresh and new is what keeps me coming back to Koko. I’m reinvigorated and approaching new challenges with my body and in my fitness. Plus, who’s to say I’m not pretending I’m one of Rob’s famous celebrity trainees – and I’m not just saying that. You’ll know what I mean when you get there!
