When searching for trustworthy farmers markets on the Cape, consider the Green Harvest Organic Farmers Market, located at the Cape Cod Fairgrounds in East Falmouth.

Since 2011, Green Harvest has been providing Cape Codders with quality food that is free of all GMOs, pesticides, and other harmful chemicals. Stanton Terrell, who manages the market with his wife, visits each farm before accepting them as a vendor to ensure that the products are in fact grown both locally and all-naturally.

Oakdale Farms in Rehoboth, MA, the main supplier of the market, uses natural and environmentally safe practices to grow their produce, with several other smaller farms in the area providing goods such as fresh fruit, cheeses, bread, and even pies.

Though meat is not on the main menu, Green Harvest does sell fish, which is locally caught right off the coast of Cape Cod. Plus, Treasure by the Sea provides homemade jams such as blueberry, strawberry, and mulberry, all of which are made from handpicked berries.

An element unique to Green Harvest is the presence of local artisans, who sell home-made goods including postcards and jewelry, made from locally created and harmless materials, as the market does not accept any imported goods, an aspect uncommon to most farmers markets.

In addition to the fresh food and other goods, along with their use of solar energy, Green Harvest brings the farmers market to life with music and food samples like fish sandwiches and smoothies, even allowing customers to bring their dogs along for the adventure.
